Television funny man Russ Abbot has been made an honorary life member of Queensbury's Black Dyke Band.
Russ, who is starring in Dr Dolittle at the Alhambra Theatre, Bradford, was presented with the award by group chairman Sir James Hill. A long-term follower of the brass band, Russ is listed as 'friend number one' in their Friends Society and is regarded as one of its most stalwart supporters.
Band administrator Geoffrey Whiteley said: "The award commemorates his excellent contribution to the world of theatre and entertainment and his support for the band over many, many years."
