Robbie Paul, Bradford Bulls' star scrum half, has been arrested by police for being drunk and disorderly.
Today the club confirmed that the 25-year-old Kiwi international had been detained by officers in Leeds following an incident in the city centre on Sunday.
After being arrested in New Briggate for being drunk and disorderly at around 4am, he was held and quizzed by police at the Bridewell station before being cautioned and released without charge.
Today the club defended their star player with chief executive Abi Ekoku saying he had been "a model professional, both on and off the field."
Robbie is considered one of the Super League's brightest stars after joining the Bulls in 1994 from New Zealand when he was 18.
A firm favourite among the club's fans, he plays alongside his older brother Henry.
