HARD hats are not the normal attire for Aireborough councillors Mike and Moira Dunn - but they were happy to wear them earlier this week to start work on £250,000 worth of improvements at Aireborough Leisure Centre.
The improvements at the centre, based at The Green in Guiseley, include a new Bodyline Gym, which is equipped with a wide range of state-of-the-art cardiovascular and resistance equipment.
When it is completed in the autumn, highly trained staff, including a Bodyline gym manager and a team of qualified
fitness professionals will devise fitness
programmes and classes for all levels of activity.
Other alterations include improvements to the changing rooms, installation of automatic doors, a pool hoist, a lift to the second floor and transforming the lounge bar
area.
Coun Mike Dunn (Lab, Aireborough) said: "These improvements are very welcome and should provide the people of Guiseley, Yeadon and Rawdon with better facilities for years to come."
During the work, the centre will be open as usual every day between 7.30am to 10.30pm, offering a full range of activities. More details on (01943) 877131Thomas.
