The number of failing businesses in Yorkshire dropped to its lowest for seven years in February.
A total of 18 firms went into receivership and administration appointments in the region last month, the same as for January, according to new figures by Deloitte & Touche.
The Leeds based professional services company has welcomed the findings, but warns that turbulent times could lie ahead.
Reorganisation services partner Angus Martin said: "These figures are reasonably encouraging. Not only is the February total the lowest for seven years, but this is the first time in several years that we have not seen a sharp rise in February.
"However, factors such as wildly fluctuating stock markets and concern over interest rates make future predictions uncertain."
