Twenty one people appeared before Bradford magistrates yesterday following Bradford City's Premiership match against Manchester City at Valley Parade last Saturday.

Public order charges against the following were withdrawn after they agreed to be bound over in £100 for a year:

Mark Barton, 33, of Oldham; Peter Doherty, 41, of Manchester; Gary Gowers, 28, of Bolton; Stuart Waters, 34, of Manchester; Lee Higham, 22, of Reddish; Ian Laycock, 20, of Manchester; and Stephen Kilduff, 34, of Smiddles Lane, Bankfoot, Bradford.

Disorderly conduct charges were withdrawn against Matthew Brigg, 22, of Bartle Grove, Great Horton, Bradford, and Raymond Boyle, 40, of Bootham Park, Daisy Hill, Bradford.

John Grib, 29, of Northlea, Thackley, Bradford, and Mark Sutcliffe, 31, of Ravenscliffe Avenue, Ravenscliffe, Bradford, pleaded not guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct and their cases were adjourned to April 18.

Michael Miller, 25, of Bury, and Craig Rowlands, 24, of Manchester, pleaded not guilty to a charge of violent disorder and their cases were adjourned to May 2.

Ian Penn, 40, of Birmingham - who is accused of being drunk inside a sports ground - and Michael Lawrence, 23, of Manchester -- who is accused of threatening behaviour - had their cases adjourned until next week.

Lee Pickup, 32, of Manchester, was bound over in £300 for a year after a charge of disorderly conduct was withdrawn.

As reported in later editions of yesterday's Telegraph & Argus, five Manchester City fans appeared in court accused of racist chanting during the match.

They were Wayne Flaherty, 33, of Nursery Close, Stockport; Gary Garlick, 41, of Chipping Fold, Milnrow, Rochdale; Michael O'Hara, 32, of Romsley Close, West Gorton, Manchester; Jeffrey Walker, 32, of Challoner Square, West Gorton; and Glenn Patrick, 38, of Grosvenor Street, Castleton, Rochdale.

No pleas were entered to the charges brought under the 1991 Football Offences Act.

All five men were bailed to appear before Bradford magistrates again on April 18.
