Bradford Cricket League club secretaries are being urged to report instances of racial abuse which are not acted upon by match umpires.
It's all part of new rules brought in by the league after being reported to the Commis-sion for Racial Equality last season after incidents in a second team match between Idle and Lightcliffe.
Guidelines handed down by the England and Wales Cricket Board have been written into the new league handbook. A policy statement on 'Anti-racism and race equality' has also been included.
League chairman Graham Reid said: "We have adopted ECB and YCA rules with certain conditions of our own which we consider appropriate to the league.
"We have also adopted our own plans for racial equality in cricket and have made it clear what our disciplinary measures are. We have also set up an independent appeals committee. Each member club has received a letter from the secretary Bob Shackleton emphasising the league's own action plan on race."
