A Keighley College student beat off professional rivals in a war of combs.
Gemma Gallagher, of Oakworth, who is halfway through a hairdressing course at the college, has won a pair of scissors from international hairdressing company Redken and £300 worth of advertising with competition organisers the Keighley News.
Gemma has yet to be taken on by a salon when she finishes her course, and this was her first competition.
Heather Whitehead, Keighley College's head of hairdressing and beauty, says she was selected from 50 students to enter because of her good skills with long hair.
Heather said: "It was a big team effort because it involved both myself and her tutor."
Kathryn Barker, another hairdressing and beauty student, did the makeup.
Cavendish Street's Hairavanti took second place in the contest, hosted by Keighley's Korner Bar, and runners up were Angels, Wayne Martell's and Streets Ahead.
