Stock Car ace Frankie Wainman junior is in South Africa preparing for the second round of the World Grand Slam series.
Wainman is the current National Points champion and will be representing England in the South frica Open championship in Johannesburg, racing V8 Sprint Cars. The championship is fought over two race meetings on Saturday and Sunday which will see the 28-year-old Silsden racer take on South Africa's top drivers.
"It is the first time in over 35 years that British drivers have had the chance to compete in South Africa and I hope to do well. Racing will be particularly competitive as it is the second leg of the World Grand Slam series," he said.
Frankie is aiming for a top five finish in the South African Open.
