Blockbusting Aussie winger Graham Mackay may emerge as a shock late contender for a spot in the Bulls' Silk Cut Challenge Cup final line-up.

Mackay was not initially due to take-up his short-term contract at Odsal until the week after the Bulls face St Helens at Twickenham on Saturday, April 28.

But the big wing, centre or back-rower could be free earlier if his current club Leeds Tykes clinch promotion to rugby union's Zurich Premiership before their final match at Henley Hawks on the same day.

The Tykes beat promotion rivals Worcester on Sunday and are now one point ahead of them with four games remaining.

"We will have to wait and see how things develop but I am sure if the Tykes do win the title before their final game Graham might prefer playing at Twickenham for us rather than in a meaningless game with them," said Noble.

The Bulls three-quarter-line looks far from settled at the moment due to injury and loss of form and Noble's comments are sure to act as a spur as the battle for cup final places begins against London Broncos at Valley Parade on Sunday night.

Winger Tevita Vaikona is a major doubt for the game after straining an ankle in Sunday's semi-final win over Warrington.

"We will take another look at him on Thursday or Friday to assess his chances properly but he is very sore at the moment," explained Noble.

Daniel Gartner is rated 50/50 at this stage after missing the semi-final with an arm injury. Lee Gilmour has been suffering from 'flu, while Lee Radford was also sent home sick yesterday.

"There is a little bit of sickness around at the moment but we have plenty of youngsters in the background waiting for a crack at it," added Noble.

Meanwhile, the Bulls have struck the opening blow in the battle for Challenge Cup final supremacy.

Noble has won the toss to decide who has first choice of strip enabling the Bulls to wear their traditional white strip. They will also occupy the larger home dressing room at Twickenham.

The Bulls allocation of 14,000 tickets goes on sale today at Odsal to season ticket holders and sponsors only (10am to 8pm). Season ticket holders must produce voucher D from their pass book.

The remainder go on general sale tomorrow between 10am and 7pm. Cheque and credit card transactions will be from the general office and cash payments from designated turnstiles.

They will also be available on Thursday (9am to 8.30pm) and Friday (9am to 5.30pm). Ticket prices are £50, £45, £40, £30, £25, £20, £15 and £10.
