The present business recession and uncertainty which has left the Queen's Exhibition Hall in Leeds without bookings for April could prove a God-send to hard-pressed motorists in the city. Mr Pentland Hick, chairman, has decided to turn the hall into a car park for the month at reasonable fees. Charges will be 30p for a full day, and 20p after 2 pm. Parking hours will be from 7.30 am to 9.30 pm.

The only objection to the clearance order sought by Bradford Corporation for 22 houses in Carlton Street and Tumbling Hill Street, Listerhills, Bradford, was withdrawn when a public inquiry was held today by Mr. J. MacDonald Fairweather, Ministry of Local Government and Planning Inspector. Mr. J. D. Bolton, representing Miss Evelyn Pearson, owner of 71 and 79 Carlton Street, the only objector, said that as a result of professional advice, after an inspection of the property, his client had withdrawn her objection.
