THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD Matthew Ferguson went through Keighley Badminton Club's first junior tournament unbeaten.
The Ermysted's Grammar School pupil enjoyed a superb competition and received a trophy presented by the club's junior coach Ashley Reed.
Chris Proctor, of Greenhead School, showed that training pays off when he took second place. After the club launched its pilot junior scheme he never missed a coaching session.
Sophie Ogden of Oakbank was third and plays as much sport as possible.
The club is due to apply for a lottery grant to boost the spot in the Keighley district.
