First Division Station Athletic caused a big upset in the Grattan League Cup, beating U Save DIY from the Premier Division to reach their first final since they were formed six years ago.

Station's man of the match Darren Clarke opened the scoring when Paul Moorhouse crossed into the penalty area and Clarke headed the ball into the net to give the underdogs they dream start they wanted.

U Save hit back hard, but they failed to finish and Station led 1-0 at half time.

Station went further ahead soon after the restart when two U Save defenders missed substitute Garth Bairstow's pass and the ball landed at the feet of Paul Moorhouse who scored with a cool finish to give his side a 2-0 lead.

U Save put Station under pressure, but they survived to book a place in the final against Premier Division leaders Brook Crompton at Thackley on Monday, May 7.

Crompton and Wibsey served up a thriller in the other semi-final before Crompton came out on top to win 3-2.

The tie was a replay after the original match was abandoned on Easter Monday following a serious injury to Wibsey's Jason Beattie.

Wibsey deservedly went in front through Terry Gray and Steve Clay increased their lead.

Crompton then hit back hard and Steve Jeffrey and Lee Newall levelled the scores before half time. Matthew Cooke scored the winner in the second half.

Smiling Mule and Buttershaw Bantams won the Supplementary Cup semi-finals.

Bantams had a hard game against fellow First Division side One In Twelve before coming out on top 3-2 after extra time.

They took the lead early in the second half only to see Ilyas Usman equalise for One In Twelve to send the tie in extra time.

Again, Bantams took the lead, but Mohammed Said levelled the scores before Bantams hit back and scored the winner with ten minutes left.

Steve Ryan (2) and Taye Fagborun scored for Buttershaw who will meet Smiling Mule from the Premier Division in the final.

Smiling Mule beat Royal 2-0 in the other semi-final with two goals from Ben Cahill.

Baildon's hopes of winning the First Division championship were dealt a big blow after they lost 7-4 at Smiling Mule B, who started the game with only ten men.

Baildon took the lead, but Smiling Mule established a 3-1 lead at half time and quickly went 5-1 in front after the break. Baildon hit back with two goals and also scored a last minute penalty, but it wasn't enough.

Aaron Smith scored a hat-trick for Smiling Mule while Paul Hickey and Justin Lambert scored two goals each.
