Bradford Bulls' Henry Paul could kick himself into the record books in tomorrow's Silk Cut Challenge Cup final should he continue his amazing goal-kicking record.

The Kiwi half-back has been successful with his last 24 attempts at goal in first-team matches - a run stretching back to the semi-final at Huddersfield on April 1.

Since he missed with his first attempt in that match, he has not been off target, piling on the agony for opposition players by continually turning four-pointers into six.

The current record for first- class competitions is held by another New Zealander. Darryl Halligan made 30 consecutive place kicks in the 1998 Australian season while playing for Canterbury Bull-dogs in Sydney.

The world record is believed to be held by Graham Stiorat, with 33, set in 1987 playing for Fremantle in the local Perth competition.

Unfortunately for Paul, if he hadn't missed the touchline conversion to Michael With-ers' by a whisker at the Mcalpine Stadium he would have already surpassed Halli-gan's feat.

Although he did need a stroke of luck last week at the Boulevard - his last conversion bounced in off the post - his success rate in Super League VI is 93.5 per cent.

The run consists of seven against Warrington, four against London, seven versus Wigan and six versus Hull.
