MOST PEOPLE are probably aware that the past month has been a very difficult period for the club as a whole. However, I feel that it would be wrong to attribute results to the off-field problems that the club is experiencing.

I would rather point to the horrendous injury list and the fact that players are performing beyond the limit, due to the injuries they have sustained.

LOOKING at the bigger picture we are still second in the league and some of our injuries are beginning to clear up. If we can satisfactorily resolve our off-field problems then performances should improve and we can start getting back into the type of form that we displayed earlier in t he year -- with the intention of peaking come play-off time.

I SPOKE to a lot of fans after Sunday's game and I know they have a real desire to see the club succeed and I share that desire. But I guess that if they had the choice of having a competitive team which could make the play-offs or no team at all, then they would go with the former.

THE REALITY is that the club has had to undertake a financial restructuring - a situation that no-one currently at the club is responsible for, nevertheless they are united in their desire to find a solution. In the meantime the coaching and playing staff remain as positive as they can and we see the Oldham game as an opportunity to continue in that mode.

ONE OF the great positives to emerge from last Sunday's game against Chorley was the success of the younger players such as Gareth Hooson, James Walker and Dave Best. Their enthusiasm, coupled with the experience of senior players, augers well for the future.

I LOOK forward to seeing everyone at the fans forum in the4e Hall of Fame bar next Tuesday at 8pm when the changes will be more fully explained.
