Former New Zealand international Tawera Nikau is in line for a shock return to the Warrington team for tonight's Super League clash with the Bulls.

The 33-year-old loose forward flew home a fortnight ago following the sudden death of his wife Letitia and was thought to have played his last game for the club.

However, Nikau arrived back in England this morning with his daughter Heaven, 13, and son Tyme, seven, and announced his intention to resume his Warrington career as soon as possible.

Wolves coach Darryl Van de Velde said: "I'm delighted. It's a big boost to the club and to the team to have 'T' back.

"He has decided he wants to play the season out and is determined to get back normal as soon as possible. He will be training tomorrow and we'll decide then whether he plays at Bradford.

"If he doesn't play tonight, he will definitely be in the side to play Huddersfield on Sunday."

Nikau, formerly with Castleford, Cronulla Sharks and Melbourne Storm, joined Warrington on a two-year contract in October 1999 and had missed only one match up to the tragic loss of his wife on April 6.

Although out of contract at the end of the year, Nikau has not yet announced whether this season will be his last.

Meanwhile Warrington are without winger Jamie Stenhouse, who damaged his Achilles in that 10-try rout of StHelens 11 days ago, and back row forward Dean Busby, who rests a back injury.

Paul Alstead and Jerome Guisset take their places as the Wolves seek to maintain their revival with a fourth successive League win.

The Wolves have recovered from a dismal start to the season which saw them lose their opening four Super League games.

But they have bounced back with three straight victories against Leeds, Halifax and hammered St Helens 56-22 a week before their Twickenham triumph.
