FROM a personal point of view there are many people that need to be thanked for ensuring that the game went ahead against Oldham last Sunday.

I am very grateful to the players from Oldham St Annes who answered the club's call for help at a tough moment together with the Alliance players and handful of first-teamers who took part.

The players gave their all and certainly staged a very creditable performance against a team who are currently second in the NFP table.

I WOULD like to say a very special thanks to the fans for the magnificent support they gave the team before, during, and after the game.

CIRCUMSTANCES have sadly led to the breakup of the team and though it has been said before, it isn't a crisis for the club, merely a watershed and an opportunity for another exciting football team to rise from the ashes of the last one.

I CAN guarantee that this time the squad will certainly be a lot younger and we will have players who could stick together for a few years and bring the success that continuity affords.

BY SUNDAY I am hopeful that I will have signed several new players, but this is largely dependant on the co-operation of other clubs -- given the fact that we could pose a threat to other teams with championship ambitions.

WHAT is certain is that most of the players who did not play on Sunday have moved on to other clubs and will no longer play a part for us this season.
