Opener Simon Davies produced his second important cup innings in successive weeks as Baildon marched into the semi-finals of the Heavy Woollen Cup yesterday.

Davies, who had hit an unbeaten 95 in last Sunday's emphatic eight-wicket triumph over Pud-sey Congs in the Priestley Cup, made 50 as he helped Baildon triumph by the same margin against Delph & Dob-cross.

Baildon dismissed their rivals for 176 with Azhar Abbas claiming three for 36 and breezed to their target in 36 overs.

Paul Spragg (43no), Richard Robinson (38no) and skipper James Goldthorp (31) all made valuable contributions.

Holders Hanging Heaton also had a comfortable victory.

They defeated Elland by 146 runs after piling up an impressive score of 244 for five.

Opener Steve Bartle led the way with 84 while Ishmail Dawood, who featured in Herefordshire's shock Cheltenham and Glouc-ester Cup win over Middlesex last Wednesday, made 45 and Steve Foster (42).

Elland were soon in trouble when they replied and were dismissed for just 98 as left arm spinner Simon Purdy (3-15) and Michael Inwood (3-13) posed problems.

Keighley, the sole surviving Bradford League Division Two side, saw their brave cup run ended in a thrilling finish.

They lost by three-wickets to Meltham who overhauled Keigh-ley's total of 166 for nine with two balls to spare.

Lee Gordon made 56 for Keighley who again showed their battling qualities.
