Stocks of water in reservoirs throughout West Yorkshire have dropped to a new low, with stocks in four divisions falling by record amounts this week. Reservoirs supplying Leeds are now only 43.9 per cent full after the biggest weekly fall this year. Bradford's reservoirs are 85.5 per cent full after a four per cent drop this week alone.

Reporting a total deficit of £20,000 on Bradford Transport Department, a review of the department's accounts, presented yesterday by the City Treasurer, Mr John Ruscoe, expressed concern at the comparatively high charges the department has to pay for electric power for trolley buses. Today Mr Ruscoe told the Telegraph & Argus: "I have interviewed an officer of the Yorkshire Electricity Board and hope that a retrospective arrangement in Bradford's case will receive sympathetic consideration."
