A salary survey of Yorkshire's construction industry has found evidence of pay growth above the rate of inflation for job such as project managers, site engineers and quantity surveyors.
Research by the Northern recruitment consultancy found that in the late 1990s a project manager aged between 30 and 40 would have earned between £25,000 and £30,000 a year, a figure which has risen by more than a quarter to between £33,000 and £38,000 this year.
