Llama may be native to South America but one new-born is already settling down in the Yorkshire countryside.

Baby Molly is the newest arrival at Westfield Farm Boarding Kennels and Cattery on Otley Chevin. The one-week-old white female is the tenth llama in the herd, which was started about 16 years ago as a collection of pets.

But she will be lying low for a while to avoid the threat of foot and mouth, said owner Lindsey Marshall, pictured with her.

"They have a low susceptibility to the virus but we're still unable to move them without a special licence," she said.

"Lots of people do come and see them at the farm but we have asked people not to handle them too much."
