Kirklees UNISON has launched a campaign to stop the closure of three old people's homes.
They are Eddercliffe Grange, Liversedge, Lydgate House, Batley, and Hartley Manor, in Bradley, Huddersfield. The planned closures follow the shutting down of Castle Grange, Newsome, and Threelands Grange, Birkenshaw.
If Kirklees Council does close the homes, a third of Council-owned old people's homes will have shut across the district in less than 12 months, says the union.
A public meeting to discuss the closure bid will be held at Dewsbury Town Hall on Monday at 7pm.
