City boss Jim Jefferies has warned his players there is no hiding place from their current crisis of confidence.

The Bantams have sunk into the bottom half of Division One and go to Millwall tomorrow on a torrid run of five defeats in six league games.

And Jefferies, who could be under pressure if results don't improve, admitted there is no easy solution.

He said: "We've got to take a hard look at ourselves. And we must cut out the basic errors being made before we have any chance of stopping the run.

"Our confidence is down and when you're stuck in this type of run you don't get the breaks. Every mistake you make is punished.

"But we have to pick ourselves up and just work harder. If we start going into shells and throwing it in then we will never get out of it."

City have slashed admission prices for the next two home matches in a bid to drum up more support to turn it round.

Prices for the games against Watford on Saturday and Wimbledon next Tuesday will be £5 for adults and £1 for juniors.

Managing director Shaun Harvey said: "We are keen to get as many people inside the stadium as possible to see if we can maximise home advantage.

"Anyone who has bought a ticket already at the full price will be able to get a refund from the ticket office and we are extending the offer to Watford and Wimbledon supporters.

"Other clubs, including Birmingham on Saturday and Nottingham Forest, have done this successfully."

City's problems increased with the 4-0 thumping at Birmingham who scored all their goals in a 12-minute burst either side of half-time.

Jefferies said: "After the first half hour I turned to the people on the bench and said that Birmingham weren't causing us any problems at all. I suppose that was the kiss of death. But the only way I could see a problem was us causing it by not doing our jobs right and that's what happened with the first goal.

"Gary Walsh will accept some of the responsibility for mishandling it but their striker should never have been allowed to have a free header at goal.

"We were comfortable up to that point but then we lost a goal and had a crazy ten minutes. I couldn't believe it going in 3-0 down when, if anything, we'd had the slightly better chances in the first half hour.

"But when you're on a bad run like this you don't seem to be able to get in front. Confidence is down and once the first mistake is punished it's a case of here we go again.

"We're making mistakes all over the place. We should never have that lost game 4-0 but we deserved to for the errors we made."

Jefferies denied Benito Carbone would have made a difference. "He played in the team against Wolves last week when we got beaten 3-0 at home. We've lost a very good player but he's not here now.

"Every manager is judged on results so I suppose if you're on a bad run you've got to be looked at. But since coming into this job all I've done is lose players.

"We had to clear players out to make spaces available to build a side but I haven't been given that opportunity yet because we don't have the resources.

"If Beni becomes a permanent move I could revamp it and strengthen things greatly. But that's three months away and there's no guarantee that it will happen with Derby."
