The main and learner pools at Batley Sports and Tennis Centre are closed this week.
Both pools are now shut and will remain closed for up to a week to allow inspection and remedial works to the Pool walls to be carried out safely.
Staff are contacting all those involved in swimming lessons, swimming clubs and other users of the main pool to explain the situation.
"We appreciate that the short notice of closure will cause some inconvenience and disappointment," said Ian Kendall, Assistant Head of Service for Kirklees Leisure and Recreation Services.
"However, the long term enjoyment and comfort of our customers is important to us and we will ensure that the pools re-open as soon as possible."
Alternative public swimming sessions are available at Dewsbury Sports Centre (01924) 325020, Spenborough Pool (01274) 335140, or Batley Baths and Recreation Centre (01924) 326167.
