Andy Tod is not the type of player to leap into the crowd or perform touchline acrobatics when things go well.

The unassuming Scot may be the hero of the fans - a position he further cemented with the two headers in Tuesday's 3-3 draw with Wimbledon - but he can never be accused of going overboard.

But he is adamant that this week has signalled a positive change in City's fortunes.

Four points from two home games have stopped the rot and given the Bantams a platform to take to Crewe.

Tod said: "Every time we were getting beaten, things were getting a wee bit harder. It's like when a team keeps winning and you get into a run - unfortunately losing can also get to be a habit.

"The truth is we've just been unlucky lately. Every mistake we made was getting punished.

"But the morale at the club has always been brilliant. The manager and the lads have been great about things and we knew that things would turn.

"Now we've started picking up results again, hopefully that's a sign that we'll enjoy some good luck for a change."

"It was a great fightback in the second half on Tuesday. Of course I'm pleased to score a couple of goals but as long as somebody is banging them in it doesn't matter who.

"And given another five minutes maybe we would have won. We were pressuring their goal and it certainly looked that way."

Gresty Road is a lucky hunting ground for Tod - who scored there last season while on loan at Stockport.

Tod's first-half header set up a 2-1 away win for his club, but his memories are vague.

He laughed: "I can't remember much about playing there apart from the fact that they played a lot of nice football.

"But that should mean a good open game tonight which will suit the way we play.

"It's going to be entertaining and hopefully we can keep the run going."

Tod has taken on the targetman role during Ashley Ward's absence and is clearly benefiting from the arrival of Matt Etherington.

"I just play where I'm asked but if you are up front, it's great to have a winger.

"It makes a big difference having somebody wide who can get in the crosses. And now we've signed Juanjo as well on the other side, we should see even more balls coming into the box."
