If the predicted thaw arrives in time, prospects for rugby union tomorrow are better than for the previous two weekends.

Having not had the chance to play bottom club Wigton, the Bees are at home to third-from-bottom Middlesbrough in a crucial match as they bid for survival.

They are set to give debuts to centre or fly half Tom Rhodes, who played for Wakefield last season and was with Leeds for the two before that, and flanker David Hartley, from Sedgley Park.

Also in the squad are front-row trio Mark 'Max' Faulkner, Roger Raper, who played for the Bees last season but has just returned from a world tour, and Nigel Hoyle, just signed from Wheatley Hills.

National League One is currently split into six mini-sections, and Otley are in the third in mid-table. They are at home to Moseley, who are in the fifth group, so a victory is expected.

Otley's only injury doubt is Ian Carroll, who went off after 75 minutes of their impressive 26-5 victory over Exeter last weekend.

Wharfedale's prospects of a win are even better - they are at home to bottom club Waterloo in National League Two. Graham 'Woo' Smith returns at scrum half for the hosts, Andrew Baggett retaining the inside centre berth.

The Dalesmen's only injury doubt is winger George Smithson, so Craig Eccleston is on stand-by.

Keighley, who now have more league wins under their belt than defeats, show several changes for their Yorkshire Division Two match at Hemsworth.

Matt Gaffney and John Hinchliffe return on the wings, and Dale Towler, who played on the wing last week, reverts to the centre, Danny McGee having returned to his studies.

Bradford Salem, glad to have last week's win against Stocksbridge under their belts, add Russell Donoghue and Ben Yorke to their squad for the tough derby at promotion-chasing Old Otliensians in Yorkshire Division Three.

Baildon, who are also in derby action at Old Rishworthians in Yorkshire Division Four, have the same squad as last week apart from Jim Hutton.
