The weather again hit the West Riding County Amateur Lea-gue fixtures badly with over-night snow preventing the majority of games from taking place.

Otley Town's visit to Hemsworth was called off early in the morning after three inches of snow fell on the mining town overnight.

Premier Division leaders Silsden increased their lead by three points when they beat local rivals Keighley Phoenix 6-3.

Stump Cross continued their unbeaten run when they drew 2-2 at Campion. Lower Hopton had a good 3-1 win at Golcar to move them up into fourth place in the table.

In the League Cup First Round there was an amazing game between Littletown and Storthes Hall.

It finished 1-1 after extra-time, but the penalty shoot out had to be abandoned due to bad light with the teams locked together at 17-17. The game will now be re-played at Storthes Hall on January 26.

Town Reserves 1

Beckwithshaw 2

Otley Town Reserves slump-ed from top spot to third following this defeat by a strong Beckwithshaw side, which had many familiar faces from last year's Harrogate Railway side.

Burley Trojans continued their winning ways and leap-frogged Town into second spot, on goal difference, by winning at Pannal 3-0.

In very difficult conditions, Beckwithshaw took an early grip on the game and took the initiative by opening the scoring midway through the first-half.

After the goal though, to Town's credit, they came back into the game and deservedly grasped the equaliser when Dale Gilmartin poked the ball home after good work from Dean Wagstaff.

Town then rode out a difficult period up to half-time with Beckwithshaw going close on several occasions with Town's defence leading a charmed life.

The Christmas pudding seemed to be lying rather heavily and the better fitness and running of the Beckwithshaw forwards caused a lot of problems.

The second-half was pretty much the same story with Beckwithshaw asking all the questions and it wasn't long before they got their breakthrough to make it 2-1.

The rest of the half was a scruffy affair with Ian Wolfenden and Dale Gilmartin cautioned by the referee. Chris Stuart was unfortunate to be also shown the yellow card after he complained about the referee's eyesight when Sean McMurrough, neatly beat two players, was upended by a third when going for goal.

All the hard effort that Town applied in the closing stages was to no avail as Beckwith-shaw held strong to finish up 2-1 winners.
