Nicky Law believes Bradford City could go a long way in this season's FA Cup.

The Bantams boss takes charge for the first time tonight in their re-arranged third-round tie at Walsall.

And while Law is focusing his efforts on a win at the Bescot, he has a sneaking feeling that his new side are capable of a decent cup run. City are distant 300/1 no-hopers with the bookies but Law sees the FA Cup as the ideal chance to breathe fresh life into a stuttering campaign. Premiership Charlton await the winners at The Valley and Law said: "You can't look past winning against Walsall tonight, and yet if we get through it's a good chance for us.

"Charlton are a Premiership club, but it looks a very winnable tie. They are a bit hit and miss, win a few then lose a few, and with the players we've got I would fancy going there and getting a result.

"The incentive would be there, and if you win that you're suddenly in round five and not a million miles away.

"With some of the other ties in the next round like Arsenal and Liverpool, you are going to lose a few Premiership big boys, so it does open it up for someone."

City must first overcome fellow Division One strugglers Walsall who they beat 2-0 at Valley Parade two months ago.

Law warned: "FA Cup games are always difficult. Where you are in the league or where they are is irrelevant as you saw on Sunday with Leeds and Cardiff and Bristol Rovers beating Derby. It's all about having the right attitude on the night and the belief in yourself.

"There is no doubting the talent and ability at this club and if the belief is there then we've got more than enough to win the game.

"I've watched the videos from the Sheffield United and Crystal Palace games and Bradford were the best side. Unfortunately we let the most goals in and lost them both. That's not something you can change overnight. But if we can stop the rot and bring in a bit of belief then we can start going forward."

Andy Myers is set to replace Robert Molenaar and Gary Locke comes in for Stephen Caldwell, whose loan spell has ended, but otherwise the team will be the same picked by stand-in boss Steve Smith against Palace ten days ago.

Law added: "The lads are looking bright and enthusiastic. We gave them the weekend off and now they are ready for the game."

City today announced a special offer which will allow season ticket holders to bring up to four adults or senior citizens to see Nicky Law's first home game in charge against Portsmouth on Saturday for just £5 per ticket.

Junior tickets for this and all remaining home league games are available for just £2 each to all supporters.
