Along with his trademark spectacles the other thing that gives Harry Potter his distinctive look is his scarf.

Look a little closer and the woollen garment may seem strangely familiar - especially to those who are regulars on the terraces at Valley Parade.

For the scarf, sported by the famous wizard in the hit film Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, is fashioned out of the exact same claret and amber colours as Bradford City Football Club's strip.

And it is a fact that has not escaped world-wide Harry Potter fans who are now clamouring for the scarf from the club shop.

Zaheer Rauf, assistant manager at Bradford City's shop at Valley Parade, pictured, said: "The scarves always sell well but following the release of the film they have been a major hit.

"It is becoming known as the Harry Potter scarf. People are walking into the shop and asking for it like that.

"We have been inundated with orders from all over the country and we have even had orders from Australia."

The club has been doing a roaring trade over Christmas and another massive order has just been placed as interest is still high.

Even celebrities are getting in on the act. "Frank Skinner's agent has placed an order for three scarves and a couple of shirts," said Mr Rauf.

"I don't know if it is for a television show or if he is a secret Bantams or Harry Potter fan, but anything which brings money to the club is a good thing."

The scarf, which costs £5.99, can be bought from the club shop at Valley Parade or via the club's website.
