Students from the Middle East are living in fear of "murder and torture" if they step out of line at British universities, claims a Bradford student leader. The allegation comes from Steve Pearson, president of the Students' Union at Bradford University, who says campus spies watch every move made by 2,000 Iranians studying in Britain.

Trams lasted a long time in Bradford as a means of transport, but have now disappeared from the scene, but there is evidence that the trolley bus is here to stay according to an editorial in "Public Transport" , published by the British Electrical and Allied Manufacturers' Association. "Nearly all passenger transport undertakings are facing difficulties at present" says the article, "but a solution is too often sought by methods of expediency in preference to those that are in the national interest".
