Robert Lister is back in granny's bed after almost two decades as Keighley Amateurs revives a popular panto.

The veteran villain again puts on the big teeth, sharpens his claws and sprouts fur to perform in Red Riding Hood.

Robert is joined in this month's production of the traditional family show by another member of the 1985 cast.

Kathrine Major last time played the principal girl, but this time she takes to the stage as the gypsy queen Zara.

The principal boy and girl are the same excellent pair as last year: Amanda Church-Michael and Rachel McMahon.

As Prince Valiant and Jill they have to help little Red Riding Hood, played by newcomer Fiona Spencer, reach her grandma in one piece.

Granny Hood is one half of the comedy duo, played by Anthony Waddington, opposite Peter Whitley as Simple Simon.

The pair are both veteran comedy performers with Keighley Amateurs as well as appearing from time to time in the society's annual musicals.

On the side of evil is Peter Greenwood, a long time member playing the character with the longest name - Baron Maximilian Farquharson DeVere DeVere DeBroke.

The baron is helped by his sons Hubert and Humphrey, played by Dale Chadwick and 17-year-old Chris Tomlinson.

Standing up for good against the wolf is Fairy Silverleaf, who is played by last year's panto fairy Ann Styles.

Red Riding Hood is presented nine times at Victoria Hall, Keighley, from January 26 - February 2 (7.15pm).

There will also be 2.15pm matinees on the Sunday and both Saturdays. There will be no Monday performance.

Book tickets for Red Riding Hood at Keighley Information Centre in the town hall, or alternatively phone Philip Cole on 01535 662681.
