Exciting rugby is promised in the semi finals of the Jack Senior Memorial Bradford Cup.

Queensbury are at home to Birkenshaw in an all-Premier Division clash that looks set to go all the way to the wire.

'Bury, riding high at the top of the Pennine League, are at full strength and Basil Richard's boys are certain to fancy their chances - especially with home advantage.

Birkenshaw have suffered a major blow with the withdrawal of both John and David Turpin due to work commitments and the loss of second-row forward Paul Bancroft with a broken toe. Full-back Morton Robinson (shoulder) and half-back Danny Ramsden (hamstring) look certain to recover in time to play.

Holders West Bowling A welcome back former Hunslet Hawks prop-forward Steve Pryce as pack leader in the home clash against Victoria Rangers.

Bowling won 11-9 when the sides met at the same stage last season.

Vics coach Phil Hellewell said: "We have no injuries and played really well at Halifax Irish last week. We intend to push for a final place this season. The ground at Bankfoot is ideal for playing rugby and whilst we respect West Bowling it will be a real achievement to win there."

It will be a special occasion for Birkenshaw A scrum half Phil Smith when he leads his team out in their home semi-final clash against Wyke in the Hudson and Foster Supplementary Bradford Cup. His son Jackson Smith will play at centre as Birky, the holders, attempt to retain the trophy.

Queensbury A, who are still smarting from last season's final defeat, have wingman Lee Baron back in action after being out injured since last September, and hooker Luke Cooper returns after missing the semi-final tie against Undercliffe.

Coach Pete Dutton will be hoping it's third time lucky after losing two finals against Bury while at other clubs.
