This woman thief is one half of a Bonnie and Clyde-style duo believed to be responsible for ten robberies on lone women.

The woman has been caught on camera an incredible nine times returning to the same shop to use stolen credit cards.

Each of the cards was snatched at night time from women in supermarket car parks by her male accomplice.

In each case he grabbed his victims' handbags after slowly driving alongside the women as they load shopping into cars.

One 49-year-old woman was badly hurt during an attack outside Marks & Spencer at the Owlcotes Centre in Pudsey.

The skin was ripped from her hand as she fought to keep hold of her bag.

She was then dragged to the floor suffering cuts and bruises to her face.

Minutes after the attack, which happened at 8pm on January 30, a withdrawal of £1,000 was made from her bank account via a cash point on Manchester Road, Bradford, using a bank card and pin number which had been inside the bag.

On other occasions, the female suspect has repeatedly used credit cards at the Co-op in Lidget Green, Bradford.

Another woman was attacked in the same car park last month, and the pair are believed to have struck in Halifax and Huddersfield.

They are also being linked with a series of thefts from parked cars in the same areas.

Police have recovered two stolen cars known to have been used in the attacks, a silver Nissan Sunny registration F634 AJX and a Rover.

However, a forensic search of the vehicles has failed to throw up any leads. The attacks began in December last year.

Detective Constable Colin Waddington, of Pudsey CID, said: "These were terrifying and nasty attacks.

"We are convinced the same people are involved because the style is so unusual.

"These have been pretty determined and we believe they are working as a team.

"She is pretty bold and has walked into the same shop on nine occasions pretending to be different women."

He added: "We don't know how much they have got away with because bills for spent cheques are coming in all the time but we are talking about a lot of money."

The female thief is believed to be aged between 18 and 25, around 5ft 6ins tall, plump and with long hair which is often tied back into a pony tail.

Police believe her accomplice may be an Asian man.

"We are advising women not to leave their handbags on display. We would suggest that, if attacked, people do not resist them. It is not worth it," said Det Con Waddington.
