Pannal Ash 1

Otley Town U-14s 17

On Sunday Otley Town Under-14s travelled to Pannal Ash, having not played, due to pitch conditions, for four weeks.

It was a game that both players and supporters wanted to go ahead. Despite the rain and snow the pitch was in good condition and Town quickly settled into the game.

The first goal came within four minutes, after some excellent one touch football by Bowe and Danskin. After the first ten minutes town stepped up a gear and soon took control of the game, with eight goals coming in the first-half.

The second-half saw more goals and Town eventually went on to win 17-1 with strikes from Jamie Danskin, Luke Danskin (4), Bowe (4), Carroll, Beaumont, Wellington, Kennedy, Wood and a hat-trick on his Town debut by Adam Stead. A good all round team effort with Man-of-the-Match going to Jimmy Bowe.

Bingley 2

Burley Juniors Under-8s played Bingley on Sunday and were narrowly beaten. In a lacklustre first-half, neither team imposed themselves on the game. The only real action came when Bingley took the lead, Burley 'keeper Jeremy Whitehead, who handled the ball and kicked well all game, powerless to prevent the goal.

In the second-half, with Bradley Cox putting in some strong tackles early on, Burley became inspired. After a good interchange of passes between the excellent Ben Brear and Ben Curran, Burley equalised with a well taken goal from Dominic Grimes.

In another move which stemmed from the hard working defensive partnership of Joseph Dowley and Thomas Wardman, Sam Pollock went close.

Despite the sustained pressure Burley could not find the net and succumbed to a breakaway goal. Very bad luck for Burley who deserved to get at least a point.

Long Lee 6

Burley Juniors Under 11's football team has just received new kits - thanks to a new sponsorship deal with Proctor Landscapes, a leading local landscaping company based in Askwith.

"We are delighted that Proctor Landscapes is supporting our players, and their football ambitions, by providing new kits. We have a superb squad of players in the Under-11s and to get the backing of this prestigious local business gives us all great encouragement.

What better help can you get for football at grass roots level than from an expert gardening company," joked Dave Crane, Burley Juniors Secretary, and Under-11's joint manager.

"Proctor Landscapes have long connections with Burley Juniors, and we are only too pleased to continue this tradition of help for our local players," said Martin Proctor.

The new Pendle supplied kit was worn for the first time on Sunday in a match against top of the league Long Lee. The new kit seemed to inspire Burley, as they led 2-0 at half-time following a superb team performance. Man-of-the-Match Joe Ashurst scored a brace of goals, none better than the deft chip over the 'keeper for the first.

The players challenged for every ball, passed well, and constantly pressured the Long Lee goal. Unfortunately, due the combination of the extraordinary effort expended during the first-half and the heavy pitch sapping their energy, the second-half performance was not as attractive.

Although they had lost, the team were not disheartened and know that if they can consistently show the super levels of commitment and skill displayed in the first-half they will develop into formidable opponents.

Undercliffe A 1

Guiseley Dynamo U-10s A 4

An excellent game of end-to-end football with the visitors running out comfortable winners. Guiseley started slowly and found themselves a goal behind after only a few minutes.

Mid-way through the half though, an excellent passing move involving Matthew Pank, Alex Barrowclough and George Huntley gave Ryan Collins the chance to slot the ball home for the equaliser.

Guiseley pushed on in the second-half and took the lead through Huntley. More good work by Pank resulted in an teasing ball across the face of the goal hit first time by Barrowclough to give Dynamos a two goal cushion.

Pank again worked his way down the right and his cross was deflected into the net by an Undercliffe defender desperate to stop the ball reaching a crop of Guiseley players.

Benton Park 6

BENTON beat Guiseley in a combined league and cup match, adding to their 6-1 home win over their opponents earlier in the season.

Guiseley striker Joe Parker was put through on goal but Benton 'keeper John Geraghty pulled off a great save. Mark Trueman beat a few defenders before shooting past Geraghty putting Guiseley in front.

Benton fought back and were rewarded just before half-time when Tom Cliffe held up the ball well before beating two defenders and shooting past Brian Diggle.

A double save from Diggle denied Benton early in the second-half. Down the other end a great save from Geraghty denied Trueman. Benton nearly went ahead when they were awarded a free-kick for a foul on Liam McGee.

Cliffe's free-kick hit the underside of the bar and bounced down onto the goalline.

Trueman again went close for Guiseley but his shot deflected off Geraghty and was cleared off the line by Nathan Benton. McGee then put Benton Park ahead after Tom Walker had put him through.

Benton Park then sealed victory when Cliffe fed substitute David Robinson who set up McGee to score.

Guiseley 3

BENTON Park Under-12s held visitors Guiseley to a 3-3 draw in their Yorkshire Schools' League match despite the very wet playing conditions. Benton 'keeper Daniel Roundell made a good save to deny Guiseley's Tom Walker. Ryan Dexter netted for Benton.

Guiseley's Tom Radford hit the post. Guiseley went close again when Adam Waite made a run but Roundell blocked. Robert Lang then levelled for Guiseley. Benton substitute Keen's shot was deflected towards goal but Kilmurray cleared off the line.

Substitute Joe Clapham gave Guiseley the lead before Adam Waite put them further in front.

Benton Park pulled a goal back when Liam Keen met Scott Waterhouse's cross. Benton equalised when Man-of-the-Match Dexter's shot stopped in a puddle, his follow up stopped on the line but Waterhouse was on hand to score a simple goal.
