Claire Atkinson has swapped Riddlesden for a sunny winter in New Zealand.
Claire, 18, has been staying in Christchurch city and is playing cricket for St Alban's Ladies.
She enjoyed ladies cricket over here before her trip, and played for Wakefield, Yorkshire and England under 19s.
Claire said: "I am living with other cricketers from England and Holland, and have been adopted by a wonderful Kiwi family who have taken me sightseeing and on holiday over the New Year.
"I am looking forward to watching the England Test team when they play in Christchurch soon.
"Thanks to everyone who has made my trip possible - I've been reading about you all in the Keighley News that dad sends me."
Claire was recently notified of a Sports Aid Foundation award towards coaching, equipment and travel costs during the 2002 season.
She is due home in April.
