A buyer is still being sought by administrators for the IMS Response's call centre operation at Steeton, near Keighley, where 100 workers were laid off last week.

IMS Response, IMS Media and IMS Telecom were all part of the former IMS Group plc.

IMS Telecom Ltd has been taken over in a management buyout.

Only 91 staff remain at IMS Response after the redundancies, but the company will continue to operate. Workers had been told that administrators Anderson were trying to sell the call centre as a going concern before the redundancies were announced.

IIMS Telecom Ltd, a provider of fixed line and mobile communication, was officially sold on February 15 to a management buyout team led by former divisional director Helen Oates.

IMS Telecom Ltd is now looking to expand its customer dealer base in the area.

Only four months ago the IMS Group - which offered phone lines such as horoscopes and sport services - doubled its workforce.

An spokesman for Anderson blamed the withdrawal of the biggest customer, JD Williams mail order, for the redundancies.

The Stock Exchange is probing trading at IMS following reports that millions of shares had been sold prior to them being frozen.
