Not a ball was kicked in the Craven League last weekend taking the total number of matches cancelled to 53 in the last five weeks.
Only 19 of the scheduled 72 have taken place and with 88 cancelled earlier in the season the league has a backlog of 160 matches to fit in at the end of the season.
One match could have gone ahead after cowling FC had worked hard all Saturday morning to get their ground ready, only to find that opponents, Gargrave, could not raise a team as most of their players were snowbound.
The prospects for this weekend look exceedingly bleak and once again the weather has ruined the seasons, pushing everything into a mad end-of-season scramble. There is likely to a shortage of players for many evening fixtures and reserve teams will have to call on first team players which does not give a true reflection of the strength of the respective clubs.
