A RAWDON play area is 'unbelievably' unsafe, it has been claimed.
Keep Our Children Safe playground campaigner Ian Burks said that he was horrified that there were stone slabs underneath a toddler's swing at Micklefield Park, behind the Aireborough Council offices.
He said: "I was in the area doing some shopping and I just couldn't believe it. I was horrified.
"I can't believe it, especially after all the publicity that there has been over this sort of thing." he said it was am potential death trap.
"What's even worse is that it is on a kiddies' swing. There's a real danger of a tragedy there if a child falls off and bangs his or her head.
"There are still some unsafe playgrounds in Wharfedale and Aireborough, there's no doubt about it."
Mr Burks said he would be raising the issue with Leeds City Council's Leisure Services Dep-artment.
"When I see play equipment with things like that underneath them, I feel ever more committed to getting things made safe."
