Thankfully the weather relented somewhat last week, allowing most of the League programme to go ahead with only three matches falling victim to the weather.

In the Silentnight Premier Division Cross Hills lost at home to Embsay. A soft pitch, which cut up badly, stopped much flowing football. Embsay controlled the first half and scored twice and but for some bad finishing could have had more.

The second half saw Cross Hills play much better and for long periods. They pushed Embsay back in defence without being able to score. Embsay weathered the pressure, broke away and scored a third goal which really ended any hopes Cross Hills had of saving the game.

Bronte Wanderers travelled to Grassington United but seemed to have left their shooting boots at home. Grassington scored early in the match with a good move and created a few more chances in the first half. Bronte came back strongly in the second half and had most of the play. Grassington almost camped in their own penalty area but chances created were wasted and Grassington survived the onslaught, even breaking out of defence on a couple of occasions and managed to hang onto the points.

Keighley Lifts were at home to Skipton Town, looking for maximum points to maintain their climb up the table and it was Lifts who started well, having much more possession without managing to score until Tony Cooper was on hand to tap home the ball from a partial clearance by the Town keeper, after a stunning shot from Paul O'Neill.

Town were limited to breakaway efforts but Jason Moore in the Lifts goal again dealt with anything that could be thrown at him. The second half saw Lifts begin to really dominate and Tony Cooper added his second, sub Keith Spence made it three and the hard working Steve Cook sealed the match for Lifts with a well placed shot.

In Division One Lothersdale Athletic entertained bottom club Gargrave and after a slow start opened the scoring through Liam Jeffries. More chances ere created and missed before John Lawrence made it two then Jeffries added a third on half-time. Gargrave had tried hard but never looked like causing problems to Dale.

The second half was virtually one way traffic. Jeffries added a second, then David Bennett and John Hudson contributed one each. John Lawrence scored his second and John Baker and James Green brought the total to nine and three points to Dale.

In Division Two, Sutton travelled to Horton but saw their promotion hopes ended when they were well beaten by a slick Horton side who rattled in five goals to Sutton's one. Sutton were below par in this match but on the day Horton were a match for any team.

Silsden Athletic, playing their first match for a month, started slowly against Bradley Reserves and the opening stages were a little scrappy. Neither side created many clear cut chances in the first half and it was no surprise when the score sheet was blank at the break.

The second half saw more action, Bradley opened the scoring through Paul Hunt only to see Ryan Smith equalise for Silsden. Adrian Pepper then put Silsden ahead, Bradley quickly equalised and play was swinging from end to end with both sides creating chances. A draw looked likely but in the dying moments Thomas Clark was on hand to slot the ball home to give Silsden maximum points. Carl Morales scored Bradley's second goal.

Cowling's promotion hopes from Division Three took a tumble when Pendle Athletic were the visitors. A soft pitch did not help matters but really Pendle had more appetite for the game than Cowling resulting in a nightmare for the home side.

After being 2-0 down at half-time, Cowling were given a glimmer of hope when Graham Rishton scored but the team failed to respond and Pendle upped yet another gear and added two more goals. A game best forgotten on Cowling's behalf.

In the Divsiion Two Cup replay, Oxenhope Recreation Reserves overcame Ingleton by 10-3, but not without a scare in the first half, the visitors sailed into a two goal lead before Chris Cousins pulled a goal back for Oxenhope, only to see Ingleton make it 3-1. This spurred Oxenhope on and a goal storm just before half-time took Oxenhope from 3-1 down to 5-3 up by the break. Richard Ellis, Ben White, Chris Day and Danny Head scored.

The second half saw Oxenhope well on top with a further five goals coming. Ingleton battled to the end but found the slope, conditions and Oxenhope too much to beat. Chris Day completed his hat trick, sub David Maw added two and Andrew Hawkins chipped in with a goal.

Oxenhope now meet Barrowford at home in the semi-final.
