Michael Withers today warned the Super League pretenders: This year's Bulls are going to be awesome.

The Australian full-back admitted errors were made in the 38-12 win over Warrington and knows they should have more notched up more points.

But Withers warned their rivals not to be fooled by the performance in the opening home game of the campaign.

"The hat-tricks will start coming soon for us," he said after the game.

"We bombed too many chances and could have got a few more. Tevita (Vaikona) and I could have got more but it will come.

"It is early in the year and as the season goes on we will be converting all of these chances. This team will be awesome."

Withers recovered well from an injury sustained in the Wigan win last week and got onto the score sheet once more against a weak Wolves side.

He admits he was guilty of failing to finish a number of promising moves as did Tongan team-mate Vaikona.

"It was good to get the two points but we can play better than that," admitted the Chief, voted man of the match by text-messaging fans.

"We played some good rugby but the conditions made it difficult for us sometimes and we should have put away more opportunities.

"But we got the win and that counts for a lot."

But despite failing to register a big score, the Bulls defended well in maintaining their 100 per cent home record at Valley Parade in the Super League.

Coach Brian Noble said: "We missed some good chances and should have had more points, but our defence was excellent.

"I'm highly delighted with how we've played," he said. "It was a decent win against a decent side.

"The boys recognise that they could have had a few more tries had our execution been better, but overall I'm very happy with how we've gone.

"Our defence was particularly tough, and that was a very pleasing part of our performance."

The Bulls will be taking a well-earned rest following their two opening Super League wins with a free week as the Challenge Cup resumes.

Although Daniel Gartner seemed to take a blow to the chest towards the end of the game, Noble said there was no serious damage and there were no other injury concerns.

The players now have 13 days to prepare themselves and Scott Naylor, who has missed both Super League games, will be hopeful of a return for the visit to Widnes on March 24 although Lesley Vainikolo is likely to miss out with his hamstring problems.
