BIKERS will be cheering up children in hospital this weekend when they deliver hundreds of Easter eggs.

The Airedale and Wharfedale Motorcycle Club (AWMC) plans to deliver Easter eggs to the children's ward at Leeds General Infirmary, as well as three childrens' homes.

The 'egg run', using eggs given by people and businesses in the area, will begin from the club's Guiseley home , The Ings Hotel, at 10am on Easter Sunday.

Debby Wood, club member, said: "The response to the Egg Appeal has been overwhelming and the club would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has donated eggs, toys and time."

Anyone wishing to donate eggs can still do so by leaving them at The Ings Hotel, and all are invited to join the parade.

The event is in keeping with the spirit of the fun-loving AWMC, which is rapidly becoming known as the friendly bike club.

The two-year-old club boasts over 35 members riding everything from classics to modern superbikes, and the doors are open to new faces.

Debby said: "We are very proud of our short but event packed history which, to date, includes touring holidays, sprint racing and regular ride-outs to every corner of this fine island.

"The social side of the club is a big hit also, with regular theme parties, discos and live bands."

The AWMC next meet at the Ings Hotel, Ings Lane, Guiseley, at 8pm, April 10, and on alternate Wednesdays after that.
