A LOCAL football team is sure to raise a few eyebrows next time they run out on to the pitch.
Their own eyebrows are one of the few places on their bodies that they have any hair left!
The players from the Three Horses pub in Fell Lane bravely agreed to have their heads shaved and their legs waxed for charity.
In total the evening, which included an 80s disco, a raffle and spot prizes, raised more than £2,100 in aid of the Sarah McKie trust.
But the stars of the show were the fearless, and now hairless, footballers, who had to brave the cold for training on Sunday with considerably less protection against the wind than usual.
Team secretary Duncan Marsden said: "It was very cold and windy at training on Sunday and there were a few worried expressions.
"But it was a great night and we would like to thank everyone who helped by giving prizes for the raffle.
"One member of the public called Christian just came in for a drink and raised £100 on the spot by having his chest shaved."
