Keighley couple Harry and Florence Greenwood are celebrating 50 years of married life today.

The pair, who married on March 22, 1952, just a month after Queen Elizabeth II ascended to the throne, met at a dance in 1946.

They remain keen dancers and today run dances at Victoria Hall and Central Hall on Monday afternoons.

For their honeymoon Harry, 71, and Florence, who will be 70 on March 28, spent three days in Blackpool, which was all they could afford at the time.

But unbeknown to them, on their wedding day they had won £71 on the pools, the equivalent of two months wages today.

On Monday the happy couple will be setting off for the Grand Hotel in Scarborough to celebrate their golden wedding with a second honeymoon.

And the secrets of a long and happy marriage?

Florence said: "We don't have time to argue, we're too busy!"

Harry added: "I've just learned to keep quiet!"
