Cyberes plc, which has a Bradford business leader as its chief executive, has signed a deal with Sabre, the world's largest travel marketing and distribution company.
Cyberes, which re-sells published and negotiated air fares, has signed the deal it describes as a "major coup" with NYSE-listed Sabre Holdings Corporation.
Sabre will use Cyberes' on-line travel reservation system to improve the service it offers to its customers. The system, which is free, allows Independent Travel Agents to gain real-time access via a standard PC to more than 50 million published fares. Cyberes, which announced turnover of £6.52 million for 2001, will receive revenue based on sales volume through the system.
Tariq Malik, of Cyberes and son of the founder, said: 'The agreement with Sabre is an important step forward for Cyberes and a major endorsement of our technology and system.
"We have the opportunity to build on Sabre's considerable international presence and network to develop a new revenue stream with smaller travel agents outside of the UK minimising risk and costs associated with market entry."
