Detectives are investigating the alleged kidnap of a man from the Lawkholme area of Keighley.

The incident took place last Tuesday, next to the Steeton roundabout on the Aire Valley Trunk Road.

And officers are not ruling out a potential link to the killing of 24-year-old Keighley security guard Qadir Ahmed last month.

Detective Supt Phil Sedgwick (pictured) said: "Officers responded to an incident in which a man had allegedly been abducted from a car.

"We made a search of the area for him, and once officers had got a car registration number they went around to an address in the Highfield area and arrested a man, who was later released on bail.

"The man later contacted the police saying there was an incident but he didn't want to divulge the details.

"We believe it wasn't a kidnap for profit, and we believe at this stage he was abducted because people possibly believe he was connected with other incidents."

The man, who was allegedly kidnapped for around eight hours, has not made a formal complaint to the police.
