At just nine-years-old Matthew Williamson is quite a veteran of Motocross, having started riding three years ago at the ripe old age of six. But according to Craig Holmes of sponsors Colin Appleyard Motorcycles his natural talent will make him a star of the future.

Having won every Auto Championship he has entered and competed successfully at club level young Matthew is about to tackle the Junior 65 British Championship for the first time.

It's quite a challenge but Matthew has already proved he's got what it takes, either winning or finishing in a rostrum place every time he's raced in a class where he's competing against boys up to 2 years older than himself. Clearly biking is in Matthew's blood for his father, Peter, has been racing most of his life and runs his own bike dealership - Bury Motorcycle Centre. But whilst he may be following in his father's footsteps, Peter modestly claims his son has far more natural ability.

Colin Appleyard, the sports and off road dealership based in Keighley and Leeds, has supplied him with the all new 2002 KTM65SX, the bike that his father says suits him down to the ground.

Sales Director Craig said: "Having seen Matthew ride I'm convinced he's a star for the future. At Colin Appleyard we try as much as possible to encourage up and coming young riders and help in any way we can. We wish Matthew every success in the Championship."
