In Saturday's Meanwood Valley Trail Race there was great packing from three of Ilkley's faster runners with Andy Wade 14th in 44:53; Tim Ashelford (running for Leeds and Bradford Tri but a second-claim Harrier) 16th in 45.28; and Mark Iley 17th in 45:44.

Other results were: 39, Mike Baldwin 48.40; 57, Ian Marshall 50.58; 78, Philip Chappell 53.19; 163, Linda Wright 61.44; 176,Victoria Wright 63.29; 184, Andrew Wright 64.06; 219, Chris Porritt 68.24; 238, Amanda Parnaby 71.27.

Meanwhile in the Coniston 14 mile road race, there were five Harriers running in the quality field. Conditions were bright and fairly still - perfect for racing probably the most scenic road race in the country. Billy Kerr was 24th in 1:24.06; Ewan Welsh ran 1:35; David Ibbotson 1:48:20; Richard Midgeley 1:48:30; and Andrew Wolfenden 1:55:05.

The following day, Andrea Priestley won the first race in this year's British Fell Championships, at Criffel, 7 miles and 2,000 feet of climbing. This was despite having a cold and nearly not running. Keswick' s Louise Sharp was second (10 seconds behind) - Andrea outpaced her on the road, having been passed on the hill. Lucy Whitaker was third, a couple of minutes adrift. Ilkley were, we believe, third ladies team, with Alison Weston in 14th place and Susie Jollie in 25th place.

In the Edale Skyline fell race, Roy Ruddle ran the 24 miles with 4,500 feet of climb in 3:44:27, for 50th place.

On Sunday, in the Wilmslow Half Marathon, Bob Wightman came 764th in a time of 1hr37:13 which was a PB by three minutes. Andy Wiggans came 1190th in a time of 1hr43:29.

On the roads, the Wilkinson Ackworth 1/2 Marathon attracted Pete Shields who ran 1h30.08; Suzanne Akeroyd who was 14th lady in 1hr 32.30 mins; and Keith Wood 159th in 1:34:52
