Otley's new deputy bellman "Bomber" Wilson has made his debut appearance.
He has been appointed by the town council which spent months searching for an assistant to town crier Paddy Steval.
Mr Wilson, a driver, is town crier for Weeton, where he lives, and a member of the Loyal Company of Town Criers.
"I am proud to be able to serve the good people of Otley as deputy town bellman, especially as my hobbies include wearing tights and shouting," he said. "It's a lovely, lovely job, but not for the shy or introverted."
