Essential carriageway resurfacing works are to be carried out in Shelf from Wednesday for about three weeks.
Work will be on the A6036 Halifax Road/Wade House Road, between Stone Chair roundabout and Shelf Hall Lane.
It will involve the removal of the already badly deteriorated carriageway surface and the laying of a new surface. The work also includes the re-setting of any carriageway boxes and the replacement of any damaged boxes.
This will be carried out prior to the laying of the new carriageway surface.
In addition, a new traffic management scheme will be introduced, incorporating a new traffic island and new white lining.
The work will be carried out with the use of temporary traffic lights and delays are anticipated. The majority of the work will be done outside peak hours in order to minimise disruption, and only from Monday to Friday.
Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times and vehicular access will be maintained where possible.
