The Skopos Motor Museum has managed to lay its hands on one of the first Harley Davidsons to hit the road.

The 1923 motorbike, pictured with Jack Haworth of Skopos, has a 1000cc engine and is similar to the models used by the US Army during the First World War.

It joins two other new acquisitions at the Batley museum - a 1934 Bentley with art deco bodywork and a 1932 Ford model Y Popular, which cost just £100 when new.

The Derby Bentley has been loaned by a local collector and is worth an estimated £160,000.

The museum at Alexandra Mills on Alexandra Road boasts about 60 cars and 30 motorbikes as well as an aeroplane and steam engines.

It opens between 10.30am and 4.30pm Tuesdays to Sundays.
