Long Lee Under 8s' season just gets better as they won another two competitions at the weekend.

After already securing Leicester City's tournament and the league title by 17 points, they overcame Westwood at Thorp Arch 3-2 in a nail-biting game. They came out of the blocks like a steam train and raced into a 3-0 lead with goals from Tom Marshall (2) and Luke Narey as they played their best football of the season.

Westwood, who won the Bradford League, refused to lie down and pulled two goals back but Long Lee held on to take the Bradford Cup.

The following day Long Lee won the Leeds United tournament at Oakbank without conceding a goal all day. They topped their group, then beat Gomersal in the quarter-finals and Shipley in the semi-finals before totally outplaying Hartshead Moor in the final 4-0. All the team deserve credit for a fantastic season in achieving four trophies and seeing a number of players being signed by professional clubs for next season.

Newly crowned champions Long Lee Under 10s B played host to Oakworth B and with excellent team spirit came out worthy 4-0 winners.

Matthew Pearson opened Long Lee's account with an impressive solo run and thunderous finish. Thomas Arthurs made it two with good follow up play.

After the break Long Lee upped the tempo and were soon rewarded with Sammy Bailey and Jimmy Marshall both hitting the back of the net with classical finishing. Long Lee maintained their 13th clean sheet of the season due to outstanding defending by joint man of the match R J Gaughan and Philip (Tin-Tin) Smith.

Long Lee Under 10s C were also involved in a local derby against Oakworth C and again produced quality football coming out on top with a 4-0 victory. Josh Huntley used impressive footwork to open Long Lee's scoring, followed closely by 'wonderboots' Dan Graham who fired home with an outstanding finish.

Long Lee maintained the pressure after the break and made 4-0 with two superior finishes from man of the match Sean Redman to gain three valuable points in their bid for runners up spot in the league.

Long Lee Under 11s cruised into the semi-final of the league cup with an emphatic 13-3 victory at Bankfoot. Sam Rooke led the way with six goals followed by a hat-trick from Aaron Stack and two apiece for James Bailey and Thomas Tetley. Tim Quinlan and Oliver Haughey supplied quality passes from midfield while Joe Park played a fine captain's role marshalling the defence. The Keighley side now meet Colne in the semi-final tie on April 21.

A hat-trick from Imran Bham and a great strike from Sean Hanley gave Long Lee Under 15s A a 4-1 home victory over Bolton Woods. Keeper Danny Edwards and Thomas Abberton also stood out in a good team performance with Joe Flaherty awarded man of the match.

Oakworth Under 7s A carried on their run of form with a 1-0 win over Shipley. The winner came in the second half from top scorer Daniel Meegan. The Oakworth defence held firm near the end for a win and Oakworth are looking good for second place in the league with three games left. Man of the match was Oliver Thompson who was outstanding.

Oakworth Under 9s A won a tough contest with Cross Road A 2-0 with goals by Joe Mitchell and man of the match Luke Chapman.

The Under 9s B came away from Cross Roads with a 4-3 win after a difficult game. Oakworth took the lead in the first half through Thomas Kerr, then made it two through James Smith. Cross Roads pulled one back before Ross Wilson made it 3-1 at half time. Cross Roads hit back in the second half and pulled a goal back. Ross Wilson scored his second for Oaks before Cross Roads made it 4-3. Danielle Cox was man of the match.

Two goals from Alex Thomas gave Oakworth Under 10s A a 2-1 victory away against Long Lee A. Long Lee took the lead but Oaks drew level before half-time. After the re-start Oakworth turned up the pressure, led by their man of the match Kane Scott, but could only manage one more goal to end their season as league champions.

Oakworth Under 10s B lost 4-0 at Long Lee B. They were 3-0 down at half-time, but rallied to play good passing football. Unfortunately they could not find the back of the net and Long Lee broke late in the game to make it 4-0.

Oakworth Under 10s C also went down 4-0 at Long Lee C. The first half was a good end to end game with both teams coming close. But in the second half a re-arranged Oaks team let in three quick goals but still tried to play passing football only for Long Lee to score their fourth near the end.

A fine strike by Aaron Ives, with the help of a sturdy display by defenders Harry Walkden and Thomas Bardgett gave Oakworth Under 11s a 1-0 win over Shipley.

Oakworth Under 12s battled hard to beat Queensbury 3-1. In an unusual quick start, Oaks raced to a two goal lead thanks to a diving header from Adam Spencer and a first goal of the season for man of the match Kurtis Towler. Queensbury hit back before the break and put the home side under severe pressure but strong defending from Richrd McCullough and Ben Smith kept them at bay. With five minutes to go Elliott Sharpe latched on to a pass and cracked home the final goal.

Going one up after only two minutes Silsden Under 13s A looked good. However they took their foot off the pedal and found themselves 2-1 down at half-time. Stepping up a gear they took the game to Bingley and with some excellent commitment scored the goals which won them the game 5-2.

Man of the match for Silsden in his new midfield role was Andrew North. Scorers for Silsden were Andrew Cooke (2), Lee McGowan, Luke Scott and Andrew North.

Silsden Under-7s won 3-1 at home to Oakworth with goals by Mark Smith, Luke Watson and Jack Lee with goalkeeper Benjamin Ramsden man of the match.
